This Privacy Policy explains how Recta Advocates (“Recta”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you visit rectaadvocates.com, contact us, subscribe to our newsletter or use our client portal. We process personal data in accordance with Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020 and, where they apply to our work, other data protection laws of the jurisdictions in which we act.
Who is responsible for your data

What we collect
- Enquiries: your name, company, email address, telephone number, the area of law and the description you send through our contact form or by email.
- Newsletter: your email address.
- Client portal: your sign-in email address, the documents, requests and messages exchanged with us, invoice records and a log of activity in the portal.
- Technical data: limited information needed to run and protect the website, such as a shortened, one-way hash of your IP address used to prevent abuse of our forms. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and assess whether we can act for you, including conflict checks.
- To send Recta Insights, if you subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing us.
- To provide legal services and the client portal to our clients, and to manage billing.
- To keep our website and systems secure and to comply with our legal and professional obligations.
Confidentiality
Please do not send confidential or privileged information through our website before an engagement has been confirmed. Contacting us does not create a lawyer–client relationship.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who host our website, portal and email on our behalf (including Cloudflare and Microsoft), with professional advisers and counsel where necessary for your matter, and with authorities where the law requires.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data outside Egypt. Client portal documents are stored in the European Union. Where data is transferred, we take steps to ensure it is protected to the standard required by applicable law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as needed to respond and for our records, newsletter details until you unsubscribe, and client portal documents while the client relationship is active and for one year after it ends, unless a longer period is required by law or professional rules.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to or restrict its use, or withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email info@rectaadvocates.com. You may also complain to the competent data protection authority.
